Ami Bouterse has performed soprano favorites in opera and musical theater with such venues as Skylight Opera Theatre, Ash Lawn Opera Festival, Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, New York Japan Society, Operafestival di Roma, Dorian Opera Theater, Milwaukee Opera Theater and on several occasions with Racine Symphony.
Ms. Bouterse recently portrayed Jack's Mother in Racine Theatre Guild's Into the Woods. She also did a regional premiere as the lead in an opera called Kirsti and the Priest. An advocate for outreach, she starred in "The One-Stop Opera Shop," which premiered at Skylight Music Theatre's Cabaret Series on behalf of Milwaukee Opera Theatre. Recent solo concert performances include Mozart arias with Kenosha Symphony, Beethoven’s Mass in C with Waukesha Choral Union, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Verdi’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Schubert’s Mass in G, Mozart’s Requiem and Mozart’s Litany for the Altar of the Blessed Sacrament for which Milwaukee Journal Sentinel critic Tom Strini claimed “The sweetness and gentility of Bouterse’s singing calmed the ear.”
Ms. Bouterse has had the privilege of premiering a song cycle of poems by Ruben Darío by Dr. Jorge Muñiz at an Atlantic Center for the Arts sponsored festival in Florence, Italy; she also appeared with the Euclid Quartet performing Dr. Muñiz’ Lamentations of the Prophet Jeremiah at a College Music Society National Conference Composers Concert. Due to her Norwegian heritage by birth and Spanish heritage by marriage, Norwegian and Spanish art song are influential in her recital programming. A recent program highlighting both was presented at Indiana University South Bend.
At the University of Wisconsin- Parkside, Ms. Bouterse is an Associate Professor of Music where she teaches private voice and other related courses, including directing the Opera Workshop. She received voice and opera theater performance degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and Carnegie Mellon University respectively. In addition, Ms. Bouterse earned Level III Certification in Jeanie LoVetri’s Somatic Voicework, which featured contemporary commercial music vocal pedagogical technique at Shenandoah University. Students show success by receiving music scholarships to colleges, leads in productions, and top honors in voice contests and talent competitions.

Born in Spain, Alejandro Alumbreros has performed as both a piano soloist and accompanist for singers and instrumentalists in Europe, the United States, and South America. He received his Masters in Piano with emphasis in vocal and chamber music from Carnegie Mellon University. He has collaborated with many companies as accompanist, vocal coach, or conductor. These include Bilbao Opera Company, Biotz Alai Choir (both in Spain), Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Carnegie Mellon University, Point Park University, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Savoyards, Florentine Opera, Milwaukee Ballet, Skylight Opera Theatre, and Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin. He plays for UW-Parkside and is the organist and choir director at First Presbyterian Church, Racine. He is also a choral music K-12 educator.
Evelyn Alumbreros, an accomplished singer and actress, brings a unique perspective to the studio having been performing professionally and artistically managed since the age of 8. Her love of both kids and singing make her ideal to teach the studio's students in Grades 1-10. During audition season, she coaches students on the acting of their song and monologue giving them the confidence they need to sell their material! She has appeared in musical theater, opera, short films, and a television show called Moochie Kalala Detectives Club produced by Dreaming Tree Films that aired on Chicago 11 PBS in 2015, which was subsequently nominated for a Midwest Emmy for Best Children’s Programming. Her current television pilot, Miskits, is being juried by Hollywood producers. Under the direction of Holly Stanfield at KUSD, she played Sophie in Mamma Mia!, Catherine in Pippin and Hannah in the Disney high school musical pilot of Freaky Friday, and played roles in In Transit and Children of Eden. She has also performed Jasmine in CTA’s Aladdin, Mary in Lakeside Players’ The Secret Garden and Esther Jane in Citadel Theater’s A Christmas Story. Other recent roles include Little Red in Into the Woods, Sprintze in Fiddler on the Roof at Racine Theatre Guild and Jovie in Elf, Jr.with CTA. Evelyn is currently a musical theatre major at Emerson College. She teaches in-person lessons during the late spring/summer and is also available for online lessons during the school year.
